INJECTIBLES

What are fillers?

Dermal fillers are cosmetic injections that restore lost volume beneath the skin. At Woodlands Aesthetics, fillers are used to add volume back to targeted areas of concern. They can improve facial contours, reduce lines and wrinkles, smooth the skin, and plump up thin lips or even the skin on your hands.

Your provider uses Restylane, Juvéderm, or Bellafill fillers, which contain substances like hyaluronic acid (HA) and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres, to treat beauty concerns without downtime.

At Woodlands Aesthetics, you can also combine fillers with Botox® to rejuvenate a youthful appearance.

What beauty concerns can fillers treat?

Fillers can be used to treat several beauty concerns, including:

  • Sagging jawline
  • Smile lines
  • Marionette lines (around your mouth)
  • Crow’s feet (around your eyes)
  • Vertical lip lines
  • Thin lips

Your provider can also use fillers to treat shallow facial contours.

Are fillers right for me?

Fillers are FDA-approved treatments to safely and effectively treat aging skin. To determine if fillers are best for your needs, your Woodlands Aesthetics provider examines your skin in areas that concern you.

They also ask about your medical history and discuss your desired results before customizing your treatment plan. You might receive more than one type of filler, or have other complementary treatments like Botox or Dysport.

What should I expect during my treatment with fillers?

When receiving fillers at Woodlands Aesthetics, you’ll rest comfortably in a relaxing room. Your provider can numb the treatment area to make sure the procedure is comfortable for you. They then inject the filler beneath your skin, which takes only a minute or two for each injection.

What happens after getting fillers?

After you receive fillers, you can resume regular activities immediately as there’s no downtime required. However, you may have some tenderness, redness, or swelling at the injection sites.

Your provider may also recommend you to avoid touching the treatment area with your hands, but you can cool your skin gently to reduce any temporary swelling.

You’ll notice the results of fillers immediately, with continued improvements appearing over the next few days. Fillers could last six months to several years or longer*, depending on the type of filler you receive.

Botox is a cosmetic injection that helps relax facial muscles and make your skin look young and beautiful. It produces dramatic results and a liquid facelift without any stitches, surgery, or major downtime.

Woodlands Aesthetics offers Botox and Dysport® (a type of Botox that can treat wider areas like the forehead). These injectables are FDA-approved treatments for reducing lines, wrinkles, and lax skin.

What areas can Botox treat?

Botox can treat several areas around your face, including:

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines (between the eyebrows)
  • Bunny lines (top of the nose)
  • Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
  • Marionette lines (around mouth)
  • Nasolabial folds (extending from the nose to the mouth)

Your provider can also use Botox to treat neck bands.

What are the benefits of getting Botox?

Some of the benefits of choosing Botox at Woodlands Aesthetics include:

  • Smoother, healthier-looking skin
  • More youthful appearance
  • Reduced lines and wrinkles
  • Aesthetically pleasing facial contours
  • Smoother, tighter skin
  • Improved skin texture
  • Reduced crow’s feet
  • Diminished scarring
  • Enhanced self-confidence

Botox can also diminish excessive underarm sweating, eye twitching, and lazy eyes. Botox treatment is a safe, highly effective alternative to traditional facelifts and other invasive procedures.

Is Botox right for me?

To find out if you’re a candidate for Botox, your Woodlands Aesthetics provider reviews your beauty goals, medical history, and treatment preferences. They examine areas of your face or body you’re concerned about and tailor a customized treatment plan just for you.

What should I expect during my Botox treatment?

During Botox treatment, you rest in a comfortable reclining chair. Your beauty provider numbs your skin to ensure the procedure feels comfortable. They gently inject Botox or Dysport just beneath your skin to smoothen out facial skin or help treat other medical conditions like hyperhidrosis. Each injection takes just a minute or two.

What happens after getting Botox?

After you receive Botox, there’s no downtime required. You can resume a regular routine immediately but may have some redness, tenderness, or swelling at the injection sites.

Avoid touching the treatment area with your hands, but you can gently cool skin to reduce swelling. The results of Botox and Dysport could take a few days to appear and often last three to four months*.

What Are PDO Threads?

PDO Threads are a type of non-invasive and non-surgical cosmetic treatment that helps reverse the visible signs of aging on the face and neck. PDO stands for polydioxanone, which is a common chemical compound that has been used in surgical settings, specifically the suturing of incisions, for years. Now, polydioxanone has found a new life in mint thread lift treatments that perfect the appearance of skin and restore a youthful visage.

What Does a Thread Lift Treat?

A thread lift is sometimes called a non-surgical facelift, so it’s purpose is pretty clear; the primary goal of a PDO thread lift is to lift the skin into a higher, tighter, more youthful position. As it is, a thread lift can treat a variety of age-related skin concerns, such as:

  • Lax or sagging skin
  • Nasolabial lines
  • Expression lines
  • Hollowness in the cheeks
  • Loose jowls

How Do PDO Threads and Thread Lifts  Work?

Thread lifts have two goals for treatment; the first is to physically lift and tighten skin, and the second is to encourage the body’s own healing to prolong results. Thread lifts done with polydioxanone accomplish this by first pulling the skin into higher, more taut positions.

Once in place, the PDO thread then has chemical reactions within the sub-dermal tissues of your skin to stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. Over time, the threads are fully absorbed into the body.

A thread lift is a fairly straightforward treatment that takes about 30 to 60 minutes to complete each treatment appointment
